"On behalf of Greatest Uncommon Denominator Magazine, we're pleased to
accept "Imperfect Verse" for publication in Issue 5, available Autumn
2009."

This is my third short story sale. While GUD is not a pro market it is nevertheless one of my favorite markets, and what can be better than selling to one's favorite market?

This deserves a long post but I am unfortunately sick today, kind of badly sick it appears. I think I might have bronchitis. So I am postponing a fuller entry until i am more coherent.

Woot! Congrats! GUD's copyeditors are really good to work with too, very thorough.

There is nothing better than selling to your favorite market. Big congrats!

In other words, forget what everyone else thinks. If you like it, that's what matters, because that's where your work is going to be!

Thanks. For the record that was the longest I've ever waited for a response...

Not as long as some of your runs! I haven't been writing for as long as you've been waiting for some of those responses :P

I've got a story at one venue that's passed 210 days now ;o) I don't expect them to buy again for several months.

But everything else is short term now. ;o)

Ok then, I've been writing for 210 days. :D

Yay for short term slush!

I need to write a new story to replentish my supply. Working on one - but sick.

Yay!

Also, good timing, as they just closed submissions until May 1. (Three hours after I submitted something. It's all my fault :-(

I waited for 161 days so I won't necessarily call it good timing :D GUD usually gets quick responses unless they like your work. I've been lucky enough to wait long every time.

As for submitting - if your piece made it in, it is in the slush and under consideration. Otherwise you will have received an email from them saying your piece didn't make it.

Thank you - just thanks in general, because this and some previous advice you've given me is really helpful mentoring.

yes - I'm not really a fiction writer, except for rare occasions when fanfic attacks.

Congrats! As [livejournal.com profile] tlmorganfield said, the editors will blow you away with their thoroughness and thoughtfulness.

GUD is definitely a great market.
