it is very different from anything I wrote in Otherblood. I don't think I'm going to do another slavery thingie for a while after the novel is done, but when I started writing, this stuff just poured out of me. Just to show how much the question of agency / free will concerned me. It still does :)
Well, I might write a novel about Ria (the protagonist of this novelette), but she will be emancipated by that time.
